Nadat ik drievoudig winnaar van de European Photography Awards ben geworden ruim een maand geleden, mag ik nog een titel bijschrijven: Platinum Winnaar Global Photography Awards 2024, georganiseerd door de International Photography Association. Mijn beeld “Burning Ships from the past (Oude schepen achter je verbranden)” heeft van de 35 koppige jury een meerderheid van de stemmen gekregen, met de winst in de categorie “Professional ~ Fine Art Photography – Surreal“.
Winnaar Global Photography Awards 2024 worden? Zo werkt dat!
The Global Photography Awards has assembled an esteemed panel of judges, each a distinguished figure within their respective field.
To ensure impartiality, all entries are evaluated anonymously; details that could reveal the identity of the entrant are removed, safeguarding against bias and conflict of interest.
Entries are judged at random without comparison to other entries in a category. Work is evaluated on criteria determined by the job’s requirements (see Judging Criteria). Amateur/student photographers are not compared to Professional Photographers in the same category.
Each juror brings depths of knowledge to the evaluation of each submission, ensuring a fair, and insightful process, maintaining commitment to the highest standards of photographic achievement worldwide.
Each submission is scored based on 1 – 100 points, with judges considering the following criteria:
- Creativity / Originality / Concept / Idea
- Content / Brief / Objective / Planning / Execution
- Innovation / Technology
- Quality / Functionality / Sustainability
- Overall Impression / Wow! Factor / Memorable
Annually, 100 winning photographs will be chosen from both professional and amateur/student categories to be shown in a worldwide virtual exhibition. Works of the Global Photographers of the Year, Category Winners of the Year, and Platinum winners will be displayed.
Ik ben ongelofelijk trots op deze fantastische prestatie en een grote droom komt daarmee uit. Mijn beelden vertellen een verhaal, en dit verhaal is extra bijzonder voor mij persoonlijk. Dat is omdat ik met dit beeld een periode uit mijn leven achter me heb gelaten en een start van een nieuw begin.
